Refund and cancellation policy

Chaloo does not collect any payment when a ride is booked. The fare depends on the distance actually travelled, so nothing is charged until after the ride is completed — see the Payment Policy. As a result, cancelling a ride before it happens never involves a refund, because no payment was ever taken for it.

You may cancel a booking or ride request at any time before the ride is completed at no charge and with no cancellation fee, because Chaloo has not collected any payment at that point. This applies whether the passenger or the driver cancels.

A fare is paid directly from the passenger's UPI app to the driver's own UPI ID — see the Payment Policy. Chaloo never collects or holds that money, so it has no funds of its own to refund from and no gateway to instruct. A refund of a disputed fare can only happen the way the payment did: directly between the passenger and the driver, outside the platform.

If you believe a fare was calculated incorrectly, or a driver confirmed "payment received" for a transfer you never sent, contact support (below) with the ride and payment details. Chaloo's operator will review the ride record (distance, rate, timestamps) and, for a confirmed calculation error, provide written confirmation of the correct amount that you and the driver can use to settle the difference directly. This is mediation, not a refund the platform issues — Chaloo is not a party to the original transfer and cannot reverse it.
